Tobit Curteis Associates undertakes work for private and institutional clients both as independent consultants and as practicing conservators. The services we offer include the following areas:
Condition surveys and investigations of deterioration mechanisms for wall paintings and architectural polychromy, including materials analysis and the preparation of independent treatment specifications.
Conservation treatment of wall paintings and architectural polychromy, ranging from stabilisation of archaeological fragments to the treatment and reintegration of monumental schemes of wall paintings.
Investigation of environmental causes of deterioration, including liquid moisture surveys and environmental monitoring, for historic buildings, wall paintings, stained glass and museum collections. We also provide long term environmental monitoring solutions for historic buildings and museums, including the design and installation of monitoring systems, analysis of data and staff training.
We work in conjunction with stained glass conservators, providing environmental research and monitoring for the investigtion of causes of deterioration and the assessment of control measures including isothermal glazing.
We act as consultant conservators on large scale or multi-disciplinary projects, working alongside architects or project managers to provide independent advice on conservation issues including project planning and design, preparation of technical specifications, evaluation of conservators' reports and commissioning of conservation treatment. |
